In British Columbia, bylaws are called Rules of Association and are filed with the Memorandum of Association to incorporate a co-operative.
Rules of Association are provided in the Cooperative Association Act. Every new co-operative forming in BC should use these as a starting point and modify the standard set of rules to reflect their business and procedural preferences. For help understanding some of the provisions in this document, check out our Guide to the BC Rules of Association or give us a call.
